My name is Chanelle Allesandre. I am a sound artist, writer, flower essence practitioner, & monitrice. I grew up in Reigate, England & in the Northeastern United States. I am currently living by the Long Island Sound in New Haven. I write poetry & prose, create atmospheric & acousmatic soundscapes, make flower essences, & am an occasional radio host.
In the rhythm of the seasons, I find a sense of orientation, I find the delicate weaving of a greater hand: a living pattern that permeates all things, always. So I start from here & I try to write what I see—to bring us all more deeply & consciously into this great woven thing we call living.
At the start of every month, I pull a card for the collective & write my interpretation of it. You can think of these card messages as touchstones to return to throughout the month.
In each Moon Drop, I muse often. And, I write about the little things that have been capturing my attention lately—that hold the sweetness of inspiration for me: things to listen to, books or poems to read, films to enjoy, artists to seek, plants to learn about, beautiful people in my community to connect with…
Often times I am not entirely sure what I will write about until I sit down in front of the screen & think of you. Usually on a Friday, I will get the inspiration to send out a note, so I do & these spontaneous missives are what I offer to you.
