Dear you,
The days are lengthening towards the longest one.
The longest day of the whole year is on Wednesday the 21st of June & it marks a significant point in a long journey.
Six months ago: where were you? Or, who were you?
Six months ago: I was sitting here, in this very same room, but I can assure you I was a very different person then than now.
Yes there are details, there are details, details about who I was then & who I am now & all that came in between… but am I ready to share them, for them to be known?
I know that details are currency right now, these days: everyone wants to know what you know, what I know. Maybe one day I will lift the veil & tell you about the past six months but for now, it feels too exhausting to describe a kind of heartache that I feel so far away from & yet so intimate with.
How to describe a ghost or a surface. Tell me & I can try for you.

But for now, know this: there are a million ways you can celebrate Midsummer. Maybe a million & one.
The maybe-one that I’d like to invite you to consider is to simply relish your life on this day in mid-June. Don’t think too hard about it, don’t worry about what to do.
Just respond to the absolute wonder of where you’ve landed after a long six months. Like a laugh, can you let yourself be like a laugh on the Summer Solstice?
Like a laugh: it doesn’t think, it just does. It starts deep & flies out & erupts like a kaleidoscope of butterflies from your open mouth.
