Dear you,
What kind of end to the month of March is it for you? A lamb, a lion? A combination of the two? And, looking back to the start: how did it begin? Can you trace the transformation from one creature to the next?
As for me, the end of this March is lamb-lion, chimera, the two having fused together somewhere in the middle of the month.
By daylight, with the sun landing at certain angles, the month steps forward with a great cat’s paw before me. And by night, it is lamb’s wool that surrounds me, that I soften into.

On this final day of March, I write to you just a short & sweet thing.
I write to give you a moment of reflection before we slip into a new month, a fool’s month, some say: the cruelest month, a month whose pathway is strewn with wildflowers.
And I say, take it, it is yours: this moment to reflect on how the past month has taken shape for you, on where you are now that it is officially springtime.

On this final day of March, I have something else to share with you:
Something lush & luxurious; something like sitting on soft, sateen cushions filled with blossoms instead of feathers; something like being fed a poem dipped in honey: the ever-lovely Jameela Dallis invites us over, into her beautiful world.
Jameela is a poet, a tarot reader, a scholar… I have been fortunate to have my cards read by her in a dim-lit speakeasy tucked into downtown Durham, & I have been stopped in my tracks by her poetry.
I already told Jameela this, but after reading her Rhythm/Devotion earlier this week, I felt so sensuous—like I had just awoken from a long, luxurious, velveteen nap & was aware of the places within me & my own living space/pace that could use more of a sensuous, slow, decadence these days.
Here is one of my favorite moments in Jameela’s interview:
I don’t think I’m a very structured person, but I know what I like. Yet, I often say I’ll try most things once. I think ritual is important as long as whatever I’m doing is important to me… So, I’d say my philosophy is complicated. In short, ritual should serve my soul, and I am free to shift and modify if something isn’t working for me.

Alright, I will leave you here, on this note.
And I will also leave you with a song that I have had on repeat since the Equinox: Spring is Coming with a Strawberry in the Mouth.
Until next time, may you be nourished & cultivate moments serene.
Warmly yours,
Chanelle
